From Maidstone take the A274 towards Sutton
Valance and Headcorn. Go through Sutton Valance
towards Headcorn. As you pass the "Weald of Kent"
golf course on your left hand side, turn left
onto East Sutton Road signposted for Ulcombe,
East Sutton and Charlton Court. Take the very
next road on the left. You will come to a grass
triangle in the middle of the road, take the right
hand fork. You will pass a house on the right hand
side called "Stream Farm", look on your left hand
side approx 500yds past the farm and this is the
entrance to the launch site.

Legend has it that Sutton Valence was home to a Saxon Battlefield, earning it the title Bloody Mountain.

The village lies on top of the hill overlooking a flat landscape close to nearby Virgin satellite site Headcorn.

During the reign of King Henry III the village was granted the right to hold a three day market.

Sutton Valence is also famous for its Grammar School which now educates more than 400 boys and girls.
