A balloon flight from Peterborough really offers the best of both worlds. You’ll enjoy a bird’s eye view of the busy urban landscape before it makes way for miles of patch-work countryside.
Taking off from Orton Longueville, the beautiful Orton Mere and surrounding golf course sweep away below you.Rising steadily into the ether, you’ll see the length of the city stretching to the north and the wider county of Cambridgeshire beyond.
Landmarks which may appear on the horizon include the London Road stadium, home to Peterborough United , also known as ‘the Posh’.
Further to the north west of the city is Peterborough Cathedral, arguably ‘the most beautiful Norman cathedral in England’, with its iconic West Front and many reaching spires.
A place of worship has stood on the site since 655 AD and the stunning structure you see today was rebuilt around 1118 AD and has been altered on and off right up to the 1970s.
You may follow the path of River Nene which passes through the city.
